Perkins has officially unveiled the brand-new 2806F-E18TAG2 2806A-E18TAG2 ElectropaK diesel engine, engineered specifically for mobile generator sets in the North American rental market. This launch further completes the full lineup of power solutions compliant with the US EPA Tier 4 Final emissions regulations, designed for temporary mobile power applications such as construction sites, large-scale events, and post-disaster emergency power supply.
This 18-litre electronically controlled model delivers a maximum rated output of 500 kW at 60Hz, meeting the ISO 8528-5 G2 performance grade standard. It features excellent load acceptance and operational stability, capable of withstanding harsh operating conditions including fluctuating loads and prolonged continuous running at construction sites. Equipped with a factory-integrated ECM electronic control module and an intelligent aftertreatment system, the model supports automatic regeneration to minimise manual maintenance. It also enables remote intelligent monitoring, fault early warning and parameter tuning, helping rental enterprises conduct clustered fleet management, track running hours and maintenance schedules, and improve overall asset operational efficiency.
In terms of fuel compatibility, the 2806F-E18TAG2 model works with B20 biodiesel and HVO renewable hydrotreated vegetable oil. It accommodates conventional fuel usage patterns while facilitating low-carbon operations, supporting the North American rental industry in carbon reduction efforts and complying with increasingly stringent local environmental regulations and green operation requirements. Rigorous durability testing confirms the model maintains stable performance under heavy loads, round-the-clock continuous operation and extreme temperature conditions, extending unit service life and reducing unexpected downtime risks. These attributes perfectly fit the mobile generator rental business model involving long-term leasing and frequent relocation.
The North American mobile power rental market has strong demand for power products that meet emissions rules, enable easy integration and deliver low lifecycle costs. Perkins now offers a complete Tier 4 compliant generator power portfolio ranging from 7 kW to 500 kW, providing mature solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This shortens new product development and certification cycles and accelerates the time-to-market for complete generator sets. The modular design allows fast chassis assembly, cooling system matching and control system integration, reducing modification costs.
Perkins product managers note that the North American mobile rental power market has unique operational models and strict regulatory requirements. The new model marks a key strategic move for Perkins to deepen its presence in this regional niche market, balancing emissions compliance, reliability and total cost of ownership. Beyond hardware, Perkins also provides genuine parts supply, regional service networks, remote diagnostic support and technical training, ensuring timely maintenance for mobile generator fleets across North America and minimising costly downtime.
With the official opening of orders for this model, Perkins will continue to enhance localised support and service infrastructure across North America, collaborating closely with generator OEMs and rental service providers to refine mobile power solutions and strengthen its market position in the mid-to-high power mobile generator segment. The product addresses both short-term emergency power needs and long-term rental operations.
